Our new friend, Carol, made a photo book for her grandchildren of the many animal babies and families that we saw.  Her book is available to view and purchase at Shutterfly:

    Cape Buffalo at Lake Nakuru.
Our guide told us they are very territorial and mean.  Do not cross them!

Crocodile in the Serengeti.  There were four Impala on the other side
of this little stream keeping a watchful eye on this Croc!

     Hyena in the Serengeti

Hyraxes in a tree at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge on the edge of the crater.  They were
at eye level in the tree and very close to us, but were not afraid.  They were so still for
so long we thought they were fake stuffed animals, but then one of them moved.

We met these Masai young men wearing black face with ostrich feathers and white face paint
walking along the road in Tanzania while they were undergoing the ritual of entering manhood.

Tina with a huge Baobab Tree in Tarangire Natonal Park

More Baobab trees.  From a distance they look like huge warriors marching across the plain
waving their arms and trying to scare us off.  I can almost hear their fearsome yells.

Waterbuck - These beautiful animals have an oval shaped white marking on
their rump that looks like a toilet seat imprint.

         Vervet Monkeys in Amboseli.

    Common Zebra at Lake Nakuru.
The zebras were all so beautiful, we thought they were anything but common!

African Safari Beautiful Vistas

In September and October, 2015, we took a 3 week African safari and saw marvelous views of big (and little) game, many national parks including: Serengeti, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Nakuru, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Olduvai (now Oldupai) Gorge.  Many gorgeous sunrises and sunsets and numerous sweeping vistas on the road and on the trails.  We visited various towns and cities including Nairobi, Karatu, Karen Area, Arusha and met a lot of hard working and friendly people.

We loved the African sunsets.  This one is over the Masai Mara in Kenya.

We loved those flat topped acacia trees.

We also loved those huge trunked Baobab trees.

Those roads in the Masai Mara were so rough that all we could do was laugh about it.
